Top 20 out of 50.
Final 3 out of 20.
I chose this one because of the way the flute has captured some of the light, also how the lighting has changed across the image. I also chose this image because of the depth you can see looking through the flutes apart from the one in the centre which has blacked out completely.
I chose this image because of the focus on only one of the parts of my flute. I thought this image shows the detail in the part of the flute that it has focused on well and is unfocused on everything around it apart from that one part.
I chose this image because of the focus the camera has on all of the parts, meaning that you can see the finger marks that are on the flute and other details that I may not of captured. I also chose this image because of the reflections that are on the paper reflecting off the flute and the way the light is captured on the certain parts of the flute.
Brassai.
|
These photographs are some of Brassai's macro 'surrealist' work. They are of toothpaste, a torn up bus ticket and piece of shrivelled bacon. The features of his style are very distinctive because he edits them to make them black and white, which then he edits the brightness and the contrast of his images. Brassai also crops his images to select the strongest section or the main focus of his photograph. Brassai does this to his images to make sure that thy are still identifiable as well as making sure they are part of his surrealist work. He does this to his image to select the strongest part and only the strongest part.
My three Brassai style photographs.
We were given the task to make our own images in Brassai's macro 'surrealist' style. To achieve this we used photoshop. I cropped the image to make it style identifiable but difficult to identify, then desaturated it and edited the brightness and the contrast of the image to achieve these results.
Photoshop techniques.
These are my photoshop techniques. First I cropped the image, using 10cm length, 6cm width then 200 resolution. Then I desaturated it. Also because the image became boring due to the desaturation, I played around with the brightness and the contrast to get the image that I wanted.
Street Alphabet
For this task, we were told to go out and find a 'natural alphabet' meaning that we had to find 12 objects which create a letter without changing it.
